Our Vision.    The goal of the Daena Cartography guild is to chart the star from its highest peak, to its deepest trench. To that end, we as the inhabitants of this world must work together Those with intrigue should ask their questions about our world, and those with the skill should go out and seek the answers to them. For those souls who wish to seek for themselves but lack the skill, Daena seeks to enlighten and train them.

Seek and Discover.    To chart the star, To assure your footfalls. That is the creed of Daena Cartography. We seek to make your voyage simple and limit the travails encountered along the way. We do make normal maps, this is true, but we also maps that dictate the locations of flora, locales of fauna, maps to and from organizations or unexplored territories. We chart the courses of civilizations and seek to have a map for just about everything one could imagine.

Headquarters.    Our Main office and Flagship can be found within the shadow of Ul'dah in Thanalan. The Goblet is where we can most easily be found.Field Offices.    We have various fields offices spanning the three great continents; Valnain, Kugane, Radz-at-Han, Abdella and Ala Mhigo to name a few.We also have plans to expand to begin exploring the New World in the foreseeable future.

We do not have Employees in the conventional sense, as we prefer our Partners to use their gifts as they see fit rather than as dictated by a superior. Here with Daena, you will have the freedom to choose your own adventure upon this star.

Principled Humanitarians.    The Golden Rule of the star. Treat those around you as you wish to be treated, be respectful and kind and should any issue arise, please inform a Director or the Chairman directly. Conflict can be fun, but we do not wish to wantonly sow seeds of animosity.Historical Adherents.    The Lore of the Star is great and varied, capable of encompassing a thousand thousand books. We understand varying takes on said Lore, but please do not stray to far from this Lore in your dealings with Daena and please do not be offended should we refuse to partake of your carefully crafted cultivations.

Tenets of Decency.    We ask that you carry yourself with the dignity befitting oneself in public spaces. We know that some places and times call for degeneracy, but we as a collective would like to remain separate from the implication thereof. Please no public streaking on the regular.The Strength of Mankind.    The will of the weak is to grow stronger and live. However, please be respectful in conducting your interactions with others. Omnipotence and Omniscience (AKA Godmodding) Are not welcome additions in the House of Daena. Please do not presume to have control over another person without asking.

Dramaturgy.    Please, leave all your external drama outside of Guild Affairs. You are welcome to vent on ocassion, but if it becomes the constant I would ask you privately speak with those interested in hearing your plight. For example, the Chairman! Beyond that, do not bring Free Company beef with you and you will be fine!Have Fun!    Daena Cartography and the House of Daena are meant to be fun environs in which we can all explore our various stories. The ultimate goal is for everyone to see themselves grow, and be able to look back at the path they've charted with pride and/or horror.

.    THE CONCEPT    .
The sands that make up Dalmasca's Westersands and Eastersands have few roads, as such the trade and travel often bottleneck through the same route. When he was in his adolescent years, Kyte and his guardian Filo often protected caravans and merchant groups they encountered from the desert's harshness. The idea to simply create more routes with stricter patrols came to Kyte back then. Little did the young man know how his dream would blossom when he uncovered his thirst for the unknown and ever greater challenges. Thus did he travel to western Aldenard, on request from whispers on the wind.Upon arriving to the shores of Eorzea, Kyte's heart for wanderlust was set ablaze. That is when the idea of charting the star first arrived in his head. Over the course of his travels, battles and newfound friends; Kyte decided the star would benefit from someone bold enough to remap Her. That is when the young man, only sixteen summers old, began doing just that. He looked for faster routes on roads less traveled, paths through mountains and vales. Everywhere he went, he left behind a path for others to follow!

.    THE REALIZATION    .
After much lobbying and petitioning with others who saw the organization as a benefit the star over, Kyte was able to acquire the neccessary funds to start the Daena Cartography Company, which would go on to become the Guild it is today, with varying partnerships sprawled all over the star. Daena Cartography & Co. are avid supporters of philanthropic pursuits. They seek to uplift the oppressed and give back to those in need. Be it resistance efforts, or a small villages that are in inevitable decline due to distance from major cities, where there are people in need, a Daenan envoy is never far from them. That is the dream this cartography company seeks to make manifest..    DAENA'S MEANING    .
Daena is a concept whose roots can be traced back to antediluvian times in ancient Ivalice. The word itself means "that which is seen or observed" and represents insight and conscience thought. This word was chosen because while Kyte's goal is to encourage travel and discovery, it is up to those who do discover to deem whether what they have found will serve as a boon to the star or a woe for all mankind.

.    THE PRESENT    .
As of the Ragnarok Event, Daena Cartography & Co. are recruiting would be partners from the world over. This showed the star had the kindness and will to persist in the face of deepest despair. That is the gift Daenans had been trying to share since the Guild was founded. Thus any who have a good measure of curiosity and goodwill in their hearts that seek out the Daenans shall be met with open arms. The House of Daena is open to all who seek it. It is open to all those who chart the star, to assure others footfalls. Please consider applying if any of this interests you. Hailing from the Royal City of Rabanastre, Kyte learned the importance of good routing and maps at an early age. He founded the Daena Cartography Guild not only to give the common folk easier access to reliable information, but to give those with the desire and drive to explore, a place they may securely do so. Kyte personally oversees many projects allied with various resistance organizations of Othard and Ilsabard.
